As we patiently await the arrival of Volume 18 to arrive at our doorstep to be packed and labeled, we wanted to share some beautiful spreads to get you excited for this issue! The theme for this issue is ‘Awakening’ and there are plenty of great stories and ideas tied into this theme.

The contributors who shared their writing offered a rich array of ideas to think about. These rural gals have covered garden soil preparation, the connectivity of farm stands, the flexibility of homeschooling, how-to prepare compound butter, romanticizing your life… and so much more. We are forever amazed by the perspectives and experiences that exist within the lives and livelihoods of the women who share their thoughts and ideas with us. There isn’t a single part of life that hasn’t been touched or felt by someone and we are so thrilled to put their words and photos into a beautiful aesthetic for you to experience.

Volume 18 is a special one for us. Not only are we heading into our fifth year of magazine production – but we are consolidating countless lessons learned along the way (with insights that guide our thinking), but we feel a new kind of confidence that comes with having conquered the growing pains that mark this publishing journey. Through the years we have sought advice and answers to some of the probing questions that two publishing newbies would have… and we have taken what works for us and moved ahead with it. The publishing industry is changing and evolving just like other industries. Fortunately we have business experience in other areas which we’ve added to our portfolio of knowledge and produced this beautiful piece of editorial and advertising content you are holding. It amazes us when we ponder just how gutsy we were to even start down this path, but happy to say, “Damn we have done this well!” And ‘Thank You’ for your support which is why this happens at all!
