Annette was one of our features in Trailblazher Magazine and below you will find some never before seen answers that Annette shared with us. We hope you enjoy learning more about this incredible woman.
Residing in the small town of Adairsville, Georgia, Annette Thurmon is a modern-day homesteader who escaped the city life in pursuit of a more simple way of living. She tends to her organic garden, orchard, and a variety of animals including alpacas, miniature donkeys, chickens, and turkeys. With a passion for self-sustainable living, Thurmon shares her farm experiences on her blog, Instagram, and podcast to encourage others to live a more simple life.
Time management and delegating. It’s hard sometimes to actually run a farm and garden alongside a business. I feel like there is never quite enough time. It has made me really take advantage of the time I have and also delegate to others so I can accomplish my tasks.
Is it cliche to say Joanna Gaines? I feel we would relate on so many levels and love talking about gardening, making a house a home and family.
You are perfect at every stage of your life. I think sometimes a younger self would always try to do things to impress others or because it was the trendy thing to do at the moment. An older me is very happy with that I do and I don’t need approval from anyone. Many thought living in the country was a terrible idea. Now, they see how amazing it can be.
Honestly my husband. He has been the greatest source of support and has cheered me on in all my endeavors. There’s nothing quite like having his support and excitement for all my successes. He has been there in my failures too and understands.
