As we embark on a new year, it’s a perfect time for self-reflection and setting intentions for the future. In this episode, we share our personal lists of five things we want more of and five things we want less of in 2024. These lists represent our desires for growth, fulfillment, and a deeper connection with ourselves and our loved ones. Join us in this episode of the Trailblazher Podcast as we explore these themes and discuss the implications and potential impact they may have on our lives.
One of the items that was on both of our “do more of” lists was the desire to create more joy in movement and self-care. While we recognize the importance of taking care of our bodies and prioritizing our well-being, we both feel that took a back seat in 2023. So we are excited to change that for 2024 and do it in a sustainable way. Is movement and self-care at the center of your New Year’s resolutions? Another item that Jan is looking to do more of this year is travel, while I am really leaning into creating core memories with my son, Luca. In this episode, I get a little emotional as I explain the relationship I have with time and the fleeting nature of Luca’s childhood. I really just want to make the most of these precious moments with him while I still have them. By embracing adventure and prioritizing quality time with our loved ones, overall, we hope to create lasting memories that will bring us joy for years to come.
“I want to go on more road trips… I just love seeing new countryside, meeting new people, seeing the little cafe in town, and just all those little things, and I miss that.” – Jan
“For me, it’s more core memories and adventures with Luca… These years, these days, these moments are just… I treasure each and every one with him.” – Erin
Something that was big on my do “more of” list was learning to embrace and celebrate the wins and milestones in our business. We have worked and hustled so dang hard in the last several years and now, I want to enjoy it. Whether that’s celebrating the money in the bank or the extra creative time we get to spend bringing the magazine to life in every issue. Make sure to tune into this part of the conversation to catch the nuance of the conversation to see how you can also start celebrating the wins in your life and business.
“Getting better at celebrating wins and acknowledging my accomplishments. ” – Erin
This point was a touchy one for both of us, but we both agreed that we want less stress and clutter in our lives for 2024. In this episode, I recognize the need to reduce stress in order to approach challenges with a clear mind, while Jan acknowledges the negative impact of clutter on her well-being. This point taught us both that while you may have the same desired outcome for something, you may not always take the same route to get there. What is something you plan to do this year that might be unconventional or tough to achieve? Drop your thoughts below!
“Less clutter… clutter is an instigator of stress for me… I want to declutter and create a more organized and peaceful environment.” – Erin
As we reflect on our desires for more and less in the coming year, it becomes clear that our intentions are rooted in growth, fulfillment, and a deeper connection with ourselves and our loved ones. By prioritizing joy, self-care, adventure, consistency, celebration, stress reduction, clutter reduction, health, and financial abundance, we hope to create a life that is aligned with our values and aspirations.
While the path to growth and fulfillment may not always be easy, we are committed to taking the necessary steps to achieve our goals. We recognize that change requires effort and dedication, but we are excited about the potential impact these changes can have on our lives and the lives of those around us.
As we embark on this journey of self-reflection and intention-setting, we invite you to join us. Take a moment to consider what you want more of and less of in your life. What are your desires for growth, fulfillment, and connection? By setting clear intentions and taking action, we can create a future that is aligned with our deepest desires and aspirations.
Here’s to a year of growth, fulfillment, and the courage to stretch beyond our comfort zones. May 2024 be a year to remember, filled with joy, abundance, and the creation of lasting memories. Let’s embrace the journey and create something extraordinary together.
